Monday, Oct 8th: Haven't been to San Francisco in ages so when Rick "The Nerd" suggested a walk over the Golden Gate Bridge, how could I pass it up. He stayed over our place for the night and after a quick stop to AAA for some maps, off we went. Crossed over the San Mateo Bridge, stopped by the Travelodge (our digs for the day) by the airport just to check it out then drove along the wharf area to the bridge. The weather was of the shirtsleeve variety and the crossing was fantastic. Instead of just turning around after arriving at the other side, we continued on to Sausalito. A bit too touristy for me but the setting was perfect. Lunch, washed down with a couple beers at The Bar With No Name, quenched our appetites and the bus ride back saved our feet.
Ho-hum view.
Angel Island
Escape from Alcatraz?
A look over my shoulder.
It's a long way up there.
The other side.
Oh, yeh.
On the sauce in Sausalito.
Looks as if Rick had one too many.
Next stop, Monterey: Without a doubt, one of the prettiest areas of our glorious country. No captions needed for the following.
