My player this week is Yu Ping Lin

Monday: 36 holes on a long soft golf course, 80+ degree weather, sore feet, aching hip and a nasty case of crotch rot. That describes my day. But we made it! Shot +4 and cruised in. Off to The Open and hopefully a piece of the 3.1 million.

We were joined during our second round by  Doug, a so called PGA caddy, or at least that's what he implied.. He picked up Sarah, the amateur in our group, after shooting 88 in round 1, and arrived on our third hole. Right off the get go he takes control of her game, reading putts, pulling clubs and treating her as if she never played before. I have total disdain for these arrogant pukes. Earlier in the round Yu Ping and I were discussing a movie she had just seen. "Meet The Parents" was the flick and she heard the word "jerk" and was not sure what it meant, so I told her. With about 3 holes to go, after Mr. Wonderful finished giving Sarah another set of instructions, I gave Yu Ping a nudge, pointed to Doug and said "jerk". We had a good laugh.

Tuesday: Yesterday took a lot out of both of us. A scheduled afternoon nine became a stint on the range then a total cancellation. Yu Ping's back was a little stiff so rest was the best option.

I walked the course then waited for the rules seminar to start. Robert O. Smith and Angus Mackenzie conducted the session. We covered embedded ball, casual water and a few other random questions. A trip to China Buffet on Jefferson Rd. rounded off the day.

I'm skipping the tonight's Donna Wanna Bowling Tournament for rest and relaxation. Tomorrow's 7:40 Pro-Am time will come soon enough.

Wednesday: Easy day today. Finished the Pro-Am without a hitch. I owed Yu Ping lunch so she picked the China Buffet. She is one eating machine! Fortunately, her high metabolism burns it up quickly.

Didn't hit it very well today but worked it out on the range afterward. This was not a good day to work on her putting. The practice green is very small and all the amateur traffic made it quite bumpy. Should be smooth for tomorrow's round.

Thursday: Can't seem to take our ball striking from the range onto the course. Shot a mediocre +2 which is in the middle of the field. We did play with Tina Barrett, the current leader at -5, who played a superb round despite a double bogey on the 18th hole our ninth.

Tomorrow will be cool and breezy. Two or three under will will make a big leap from our position. Need to have a good tournament before The Open.

I'll probably have to stick around the course tomorrow. Yu Ping is taking next week off and I need to find work.

Friday: Two over again. Only hit 8 greens so this was a good +2. Yu Ping definitely needs a week off to work things out. Her ball striking is not getting better.

Tina started out struggling but made a couple birdies on the front. She finished 4 under for the two rounds and I'm sure pleased with her position. We still could have a decent finish but something good has to happen.

Saturday: More of the same. Shot +4. Even par would have made a move but was not in the cards. The par 5's are killing us. 3 over on the two on the back nine.

Looks like Rachel may run away with it.

Sunday: Finally! Got it under par and -2 on the par fives. Finished +6 for the event. Still don't have a bag for this week but should be a few jobs open.
