Monday: Check out the British Open link above.

Travel day. Left Manchester airport on a 12:30 flight to Philly, flight to Cleveland delayed by weather, arrived after 9:00, drove to Columbus and in bed by 11:30.

After clearing customs, the agent concluded with the words I was longing to hear, "Welcome home". We do live in the greatest country on Earth. Don't ever take it for granted.

Tuesday: Played the front and walked the back. The course is a swamp! It really dumped here the past few days.

Qualifier is being played today because of yesterday's rain-out.

Wednesday: Early Pro-Am time so we beat any possible rain. Seems to be chance of T-storms all week. Everyone was on buggies today even the pros. Still took way too long to finish.

We're playing the course in the correct order this time. Last year the nines were switched except for the 9th and 18th holes. Much better finishing holes this way.

Thursday: Easy practice day. Done by 11:00.

They brought in a Wendy's trailer for food service so a "Classic Double" was my lunch du jour. This is the first time they've served Wendy's food at this event which is surprising.

Going computer shopping with Lisa Kiggens this afternoon. Time to up to update her laptop. Found a couple of good deals but it all depends how deep her pockets are.

Friday: Played ball-in-hand due to the soft conditions. Hit it better but not making many birds. Shot even par.

I saw a little fall-out from that meeting with the Koreans. Our first hole, the 10th, found Christina Kim in need of a ruling behind the green. As the rules official described the options to her, daddy tried to interject. He was stopped in his tracks and was told that this discussion was of no concern to him, to put it politely. Later in the round Yu Ping asked her grandmother if she was in need of water by mimicking a drinking motion. I just couldn't help myself and uttered "You better watch those hand signals". Well, it was in ear shot of Christina and she didn't find it very humorous. People just have to lighten up a little!

Saturday: A double and 2 birds netted an even par performance, just making the cut on the nose. Everyone will finish even with a fog and rain delay.

This soft ground and an extremely heavy bag is giving my right hip fits. I must have altered my gate because the pain is almost too much to bear. Need some hard ground to recoup.

Sunday: The preferred lie policy is NOT, NOT, NOT in effect today. That was the notice posted on the first tee today. After playing two days with ball-in-hand the officials wanted to make sure everyone took notice.

Even-Steven today for 3 rounds of par golf. The twosome pace was much appreciated.

My run with Yu Ping has come to an end. Got axed after the round. Had a feeling when she asked for me stick around after we finished. Should have made a preemptive "I quit" first strike but thought of it too late. I'll look at this as an opportunity instead of a pitfall. You never know what awaits.
